Alaska Air Cargo has ordered Astrophysics XIS-1517DV 200kV x-ray scanners for its Pacific northwest airline hubs.
The X-ray systems will replace and upgrade aging cargo scanning equipment being phased out of service and standardise Astrophysics’ technology across its US facilities.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires all cargo transported on passenger aircraft be 100 per cent screened prior to being loaded onto aircraft.
X-ray scanners used for cargo screening must be TSA-qualified and included in the agency’s list of approved screening technologies.
Astrophysics chief executive officer, Francois Zayek says: “Our XIS-1517DV 200kV X-ray scanners are the perfect solution for Alaska’s critical mission. We are proud to add this machine to their inventory of Astrophysics products.”
