Emirates SkyCargo has started weekly freighter services from Oslo to Dubai to cater for increasing Norwegian seafood exports, which have doubled in the last six years.

The route will be served by a Boeing 777 Freighter with over 100 tonnes of capacity, which brings weekly capacity out of Oslo to 175 tonnes including bellyhold space on the five weekly Boeing 777-300ER flights. Flight EK9370 will land in Oslo at 10.05h, departing again at 12.00h, and arriving back in Dubai at 18.40h.

The airline says the route will facilitate increasing seafood exports, particularly salmon. It says Norwegian seafood exports have doubled in the last six years due to demand for salmon, trout, cod and crab.

Emirates SkyCargo says its Emirates SkyCentral facility at Dubai World Central (DWC) is ideal for the transportation of temperature sensitive seafood shipments. It includes over 15,000 square metres of temperature controlled storage space and 12 dedicated reefer trucks operating between DWC and Dubai International Airport (DXB) offering transit times of five hours between arriving at DWC and departing from DXB in the bellyhold of a passenger aircraft.
