Daytime USA – Tokyo Haneda flights cleared for take-off

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has finalised the decision to allow daytime services from the US to Tokyo Haneda Airport.

Under the agreement, American Airlines has been given permission to connect Los Angeles with Tokyo Haneda, Delta Air Lines from Los Angeles and Minneapolis St. Paul, Hawaiian Airlines from Honolulu and United Airlines from San Francisco. The Minneapolis service is new and the other services are operated at night.

The DOT says the daytime Haneda flights are the result of successful US – Japan negotiations completed in February 2016, and also gives the opportunity for one additional night time flight. The new Haneda flights are expected to start by 30 October.
