Abhishek Goyal is the Executive Director of Aeroprime Group, where he oversees the company’s strategic initiatives and overall operations in the airlines GSSA sector. With close to a decade of experience in the industry, he is passionate about driving innovation and excellence in airlines and cargo management services, charting pathways for growth, and fostering diversification initiatives, ensuring measurable and impactful outcomes for our partners, customers, and valued stakeholders.

How did you get into air freight logistics?

My journey into the airlines GSSA sector began with a fascination for aviation and its complexities. While growing up and watching my father who has been engaged in this sector for decades, I recognised the pivotal role GSSAs play in the global aviation sector. This motivated me to specialise in this field and carry forward the family’s legacy. Coming from a new age of entrepreneurs, I aimed to introduce innovative and tech-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and streamline operations effectively while building a global network to expand our reach.

What quote has most resonated with you?

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” This quote by Steve Jobs inspires me to pursue my passions and strive for excellence in everything I do.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Listen more than you speak – This advice has been invaluable in my career, helping me understand my team and clients better, leading to more effective collaboration.

If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would it be?

I would choose Bill Gates for his wisdom, Deepinder Goyal for his innovative thinking, and my father for his life experiences and stories.

What’s something we wouldn’t know about you from your CV?

One thing you might not know about me from my CV is my passion for mentoring young professionals in the aviation industry. I believe in the importance of sharing knowledge and experiences to help the next generation thrive. Outside of my professional commitments, I often participate in workshops and networking events, where I enjoy guiding aspiring individuals and discussing industry trends. This commitment not only enriches my own perspective but also fosters a sense of community within our field.

Had you not pursued a career in airfreight, what other field would you have gone into?

If I wasn’t in logistics and airfreight, I think I would have stuck to my original ambition of getting into the travel and hospitality sector. The dynamic nature of this industry excites me, and I believe it plays a vital role in fostering understanding and appreciation among diverse cultures.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to teleport. Just imagine being able to pop over to a beautiful beach in Thailand for breakfast and then head to a cosy café in Paris for lunch! The idea of instantly travelling anywhere in the world fascinates me, as it would allow me to explore diverse cultures, connect with people globally, and experience new adventures without the constraints of time or distance.

Looking back over your career, what would your message be to someone considering a career in logistics?

Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. The logistics industry is dynamic and rewarding; your adaptability will define your success.

How do you motivate your team?

I believe in leading by example and fostering an environment where everyone feels valued. Regular recognition of achievements and open communication are key motivators.

What is the one item you can’t travel without?

My phone – it’s essential for staying connected and managing work on the go.

Who is your role model?

My father.

What would your autobiography be called?

Navigating New Heights with Life.

Early riser or night owl?

Definitely, a night owl .

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A simple home cooked Indian meal.

What’s your most used emoji?

The thumbs-up emoji – the most widely used Gen Z emoji. Also, I find it perfect for quick responses in conversations, whether I’m acknowledging a good idea or just showing support.
