1000th IAG Cargo freighter from HK to STN milestone reached

On Sunday, April 22 a milestone for IAG Cargo will be reached at London Stansted airport (pictured) when the 1000th flight of IAG Cargo’s Hong Kong to London Stansted freighter agreement with Qatar Airways lands.

The route from Hong Kong – London Stansted (HKG – STN) commenced as recently as May 1, 2014. Flown five times a week, it utilises a Boeing 777 freighter.
The block space agreement with Qatar Airways to operate five 777F flights a week created a capacity equal to over 400 tonnes.

Noting the milestone, the airline says: “During this time we have successfully moved over 70 million kilos of freight for our customers on this lane – this is equivalent to over 11,500 African elephants!

“In the past four years, we’ve moved a really diverse range of commodities, from garments to CCTV equipment, fidget spinners to tablet PCs and headphones to watches.”
